While waiting for the joint compound to dry in the bathroom my son started fixing the kitchen floor which is contiguous to the bathroom floor he repaired.
He had to replace the joist to support new 4′ by 8′ tongue-and-groove OBS subfloor.
Since the bathroom is not finished this is just a partial fix to allow the family to use the kitchen all the way back to the wall which still needs to be drywalled. (The bathroom is on the other side of this wall.)
Unfortunately the kitchen needs a lot of repairs including new flooring, wall and ceiling repair, and a new exterior door frame.
We’ve been distracted by the septic issue.
